The Ancient!John 'Verse
A Stargate: Atlantis AU

The Atlantis Expedition never knew Major Sheppard. When they arrive in the Pegasus Galaxy, however, they discover a single Ancient remained behind to protect the city.

His name is Iohannes Ianideus Licinus Pastor, but mostly they just call him John Sheppard...

The Ancient!John 'Verse is a work in progress, spanning the first 2.5 seasons of SGA (so far) and encompassing approximately 200,000 words in 22 stories, 2 side stories, and (approximately) 50 drabbles. While it IS on hiatus while I am at Basic Training (mid Feb - mid May 2013), I have every intention of finishing the series upon my return

Rating: ranges from PG to R, averages at PG-13
Warnings: character death (major and minor), language (this is the main one), SyFy violence and gore, sexual themes and content (mainly slash, with some het), mature humour, use of alcohol.... Nothing you'd not expect to see in SGA itself, with slighly more fade-to-black.
Spoilers: currently, 1x01 "Rising" thru 3x08 "McKay and Mrs Miller" & 5x10/11 "First Contact"/"The Lost Tribe;" assumes basic knoweledge of pretty much all SG1 thru 10x03 "The Pegasus Project."
Pairings: Ancient!John Sheppard/Rodney McKay (main); Evan Lorne/Radek Zelenka, Carson Beckett/Laura Cadman, Elizabeth Weir/Stephen Caldwell, Sam Carter/Jack O'Neill (background); mentions of past Ancient!John Sheppard/OFC, Elizabeth Weir/Simon Wallis, Stephen Caldwell/OFC, Evan Lorne/OFC, Jack O'Neill/Sarah O'Neill, and Janus/Everybody
Disclaimer: I don't own these characters. I don't even own the humorous (and legally useless) disclaimer you're reading now.
Notes: This started out as a one-shot and has grown into it's own 'verse. As such, there are a plethora of background materials a reader may find useful. These include the glossary, the timeline, the soundtrack, Ancient!John's family tree, and other assorted series notes. This series is cross-posted to AO3 and ff.net. Also, most of the first two seasons worth of stories have been poste facto beta'd b spaci1701, but the drabbles and all of the third season have not. I intend to revisit this issue after I return from Basic. I am also will to answer any questions you may have, so feel free to ask away.
